The Jungle Book 2016 review

The Jungle Book is what I believe is the third Disney incarnation of the book, that excludes Talespin, etc.. It's sort of a mix of its predecessors and instead includes digitized animals, probably better since a kid is in the film as Mowgli. The Jungle Book was created by Iron Man and therefore MCU founding director, Jon Favreau.

And boy were the trailers great.
The trailers were also misleading.
The trailers don't have the animals talk.
And they certainly don't have the animals dance.
You probably quit already.

Like a lot of us artsy folk should be pissed off.
We were hoping not quite for a Chaplin or a Malick, but a Black Beauty-ish experience. Roger Ebert liked Black Beauty. I loved Black Beauty.
The trailer just has us see the effects and the visuals.

This was a really cool evolution of the Disney Animation Studio
Everything looked really beautiful.
The voice acting was really cool.
As much as I'm not anti-Scarlett Johannsenn in Ghost in the Shell, who is also in this movie, I really felt a bit aback that the male protagonist, Mowgli is played by a male of Indian descent, but really sounded just so American.
Not to mention the other very odd moment in the film.

There's some violent moment not in the original Disney film but present in the first live action film.

The Adventures of Batman and Robin (Genesis) 4 Step Challenge

  1. Use ONE credit
  2. Use ONE player
  3. DO NOT use batarangs
  4. DO NOT use skulls or other powerups. No Bat trash cans at all.

Huntsman Winter's War review

Everyone hated Kristen Stewart, I mean Snow White and the Huntmans, because Kristen Stewart was in it. No Kristen Stewart, so how does it fair?
The productions are there, but it does seem to be a cheaper movie than SWATH, (Snow White and the Huntsman.)

The film goes into the backstory of the Huntsman and his wife, although the wife is alive in the end, so where does that lead for Snow White?
So yeah, you sort've have to ignore it if you're hoping it for true canon to the first film, which everyone apparently hated cuz of Kristen Stewart anyway, so who cares?
The Huntsman isn't even on Queen Charlize's side in the end anyway.
Also Nick Frost has already joined his side as one of the 7, I mean 2 Dwarves.
There's a big cast of extras, costume design and special effects are great.
Emily Blunt really immerses herself in the role of the Snow Queen. She seemed to have a lot of fun in the role. Early Actress of the Year nom?

The Snow effects are really good. I wonder if there was a reference to Frozen in there.
The backstory for the , but the fight between the Queens is rather anticlimactic.
There's a bunch of A-listers here: Charlize Theron and Thor return, Jessica Chastain as Thor's wife, Emily Blunt as the Snow Queen.
Also, Snow White, Snow Queen?

Beauty and Youth are sought, but are taken by the Queens. But the Queens are sorta barely in the film to begin with, so it just comes off as a cheap version of the original film's premise.
