Coen Brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis snubbed in 2013-4 DGA nominations

The nominees for Feature Film were:

  • Alfonso CuarĂ³n – Gravity
  • Paul Greengrass – Captain Phillips
  • Steve McQueen – 12 Years a Slave
  • David O. Russell – American Hustle
  • Martin Scorsese – The Wolf of Wall Street
Captain Phillips is a controversial pick, because of its portrayal of subject matter.
Gravity's use of dialogue didn't work.
American Hustle had great performances but cannot be compared to the auteurish work such as the Coen Bros' Llewyn Davis.
12 Years of Slave was done by an auteur but cannot be compared to a Rob Ager-ish project like Inside Llewyn Davis.

The Wolf of Wall Street was pretty darn good....
