Video Game Review: Final Fantasy VII

Characters:
Cloud is an amnesiac or possibly just a liar in my theories. He's a real breakthrough in Final Fantasy storytelling.
Tifa
His childhood friend
Johnny
Tifa's former childhood friend
Barret
The rebel leader with a tough past
Aeris
His love interest and female Ancient Jesus
Sephiroth
The Frankenstein devil
Red XIII
An endangered species captured by Shin-Ra who reveals to AVALANCHE the meaning of life
Yuffie
A materia thief from a long lost world
Cait Sith
A fortune teller who is really someone else.
Vincent
A former Turk who was involved in the creation of Sephiroth
Cid
Former Shin-Ra astronaut captain, who says fuck it! I'll go fight the corporate totalitarian government of the world. Drinks tea.

Story:
I'll get into this much later.
A+

FMVs:
Great. I'm going to do an analysis.
Also, as corny as Aeris' death was, it was something that couldn't have been done in that style on the Super Nintendo
A+

Character Design:
All the main characters great.
The towns people like most Final Fantasies don't really stand out much.
They stop creating new characters for the most part by Disc 2 regretably.
C

Towns:
I have so much to say about this game's towns as you've noticed. Probably the most iconic in all of video game history.
A+

Gameplay:
This was quite a revolutionary Final Fantasy in that it gave so much flexibility for each of your characters.
Gone was the use of Tanks vs Elemental Mages and in was the use of.
I guess Relm did
Final Fantasy 6 and 8's were a bit more lenient with how they had their characters stand out though and every fight made a difference
Balancing materia stats, while gaining key materia abilities was interesting.
KOTR was abused.
Not to mention, how there should be an achievement for fans who want to defeat weapons.

Difficulty: Easy
It's not like Evolution or Tales of Symphonia, but you can get through most of the game by like selling your Knights of the Round materia for no reason. NOT THAT I EVER DID THAT!

Overall:
A+
A video game classic in storytelling.
Only thing fans will dislike is if they like really hard gameplay.
Then again, thanks to GameFAQs, which was probably influenced by Battle Arena, fans have created so many unique ways to play the game and still attempt to defeat Safer Sephiroth.
Have fun with this historic game.
